Starbucks to launch two brightly colored drinks in honor of Wicked movie starring Ariana Grande

If rumors are to be believed, then Starbucks is gearing up to launch two new signature drinks themed around the upcoming musical film, Wicked, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Starbucks has long dominated the coffee shop industry thanks to the combination of yummy seasonal drinks and stylish merchandise that puts IKEA to shame. Most recently, the coffee shop chain released plans to launch an energy drink.

Something Wicked this way comes

Next month the world will finally be treated to the cinematic masterpiece of Wicked, maybe the most popular stage musical of all time. Ariana Grande is set to star as Glinda the Good Witch alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero. Michelle Yeoh and Jeff Goldblum also star as Madame Morrible and The Wizard, respectively.

Brands across the world are undoubtedly planning to mark the occasion with capitalistic cash grabs, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be eating it up.

As reported by Markie Devo (@Markiedevo), a popular Instagram food page that earlier teased the Raising Cane’s dupe, Starbucks is planning to capitalize on the release with two brand new drinks.

“But wheres the Totos Barkamani Frappupawscino(wrong movie),” he penned. “Starbucks is speculated to have teamed up with the new Wicked movie for two drinks crafted after characters from the movie.”

The first drink is Glindas Pink Potion, a Mango Dragonfruit Refresher with creamy coconut milk, ice and a scoop of real dragonfruit. The drink is topped with strawberry cream cold foam and colorful candy sprinkles.

If you’re feeling slightly more wicked this Halloween, and you’re not feeling a secret menu frappuccino, you might opt for Elphabas Green Elixir. The beverage is said to be a cold brew with peppermint syrup, Nondairy matcha cream cold foam, and more sprinkles.

The rumor was confirmed, a staff member claimed

Rumors should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but a Starbucks worker in the comments did confirm: “Starbucks supervisor here, this was confirmed today by corporate.”

“You can order these right now if you put the ingredients listed in the caption, they just dont have the sprinkles yet and either way itll be expensive as hell lmao,” someone else pointed out.

A third wrote: “Cold foam is like crack. Very good and addictive. but it definitely takes your coffee experience to another level.”

The drinks will reportedly be available from October 22 alongside new merchandise to mark the release of Wicked.
